Rebuilding a diverse working class based on locally rooted wealth.

The Industrial Commons supports promising start-up worker-owned businesses and small to mid-sized firms that are looking to convert to worker ownership or shift, culturally, to more equitable and democratic workplace practices.

We primarily work with rural and industrial companies based in Western North Carolina and surrounding regions.

The Industrial Commons was formed in 2015 in response to a need in western North Carolina for an industry focused organization to provide resources and support to firms and networks in a way that improves livelihoods and roots wealth in communities.
