Shana Harrison
Director of Workforce Development | The Industrial Commons
Shana Harrison brings over 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience to her work, shaped by a deep commitment to education, equity, and community. Originally from rural Arkansas, Shana’s career path in workforce development and education began during a 14-year stay in Chile, where she founded a nonprofit supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.
Since then, she has led organizations in both the U.S. and abroad, most recently helping guide the successful merger of two Dallas-based literacy nonprofits into Aspire, where she expanded programs and services for hundreds of students. A graduate of Lyon College and Duke University, Shana is excited to build strong partnerships with local employers, schools, and community members to help individuals thrive and strengthen the workforce in Burke County.
She and her husband Dan are happy to return to rural living and are eager to explore the many hiking trails nearby. Shana also enjoys gardening, traveling, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
