Thea Yang

Values and Culture Director | The Industrial Commons

Thea Yang is the Values and Culture Director at The Industrial Commons, where she co-leads the Common Ground enterprise. A Hmong American storyteller and cultural advocate, her work centers on preserving history, amplifying lived experiences, and connecting community to place.

Her hobbies include spending time with family, interior design, gardening, listening to music, and reading.

She holds an associate’s degree in English from Western Piedmont Community College and a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She serves on the UNC Health Blue Ridge Board of Directors and is a member of the North Caroliniana Society, a New Century Gold Scholar, and a former trustee of Western Piedmont Community College.
