Thomas Purello

Art Instructor | TOSS

Thomas Purello serves as TOSS’s instructor for the TOSSworks program where he leads in-school lessons for over 1000 students a month. Prior to working at The Industrial Commons, Thomas attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut where he studied Studio Art and Environmental Studies. During his time at Wesleyan, Thomas developed an extensive artistic practice, focusing on woodworking, drawing, sculpture, and architecture as his primary mediums.

Originally from Gastonia, Thomas was brought back to North Carolina through his passion for preserving the environment of his home and helping the people of Western North Carolina. In his free time, you can catch him at Bigfoot Climbing Gym, hiking in Pisgah National Forest, or watching sports and movies with his roommates. Go Hornets!
